Senior Mechanical Engineer

Fresco is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving product development challenges through hands-on engineering, rapid prototyping, and collaborative problem solving.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of industrial designers, design engineers, mechanical engineers, and prototype specialists to develop products from early concepts through manufacturing. This position has potential to grow into an engineering project lead role.

At Fresco, you'll be involved from the earliest stages of development. You'll help define product architecture and solve mechanical challenges through design-build-test cycles. You'll use rapid prototyping, engineering analysis, and iterative testing to answer critical engineering questions, identify technical risks, and validate design decisions.

Our projects span medical devices, wearables, robotics, consumer products, and other technically challenging products. You'll develop mechanical solutions for complex assemblies, product architectures, ergonomic requirements, manufacturing constraints, and production-ready designs.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role. You'll work directly with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional development teams to communicate engineering decisions, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and help guide products from concept to production.

Responsibilities / Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in new product development from early concepts through manufacturing.

  • Experience developing medical devices, health tech, or wearables.

  • Experience developing products within a regulated product development environment, including design controls, quality management systems, and risk management.

  • Proficiency in Rhino, SolidWorks, Creo (or similar parametric CAD) for complex assemblies, drawings, and revision control.

  • Design robust mechanical systems, mechanisms, and assemblies for products from concept through manufacturing.

  • Build, test, and evaluate functional prototypes to validate engineering concepts and reduce technical risk.

  • Collaborate closely with industrial designers to balance ergonomics, aesthetics, manufacturability, performance, and cost.

  • Present engineering concepts, trade-offs, and technical recommendations.

  • Support supplier engagement, manufacturing development, and design-for-manufacturing activities.
